Kickstarter Backer Feature #2

Backer Robbie Boerner volunteers to help keep MTAC Devil's Dozen Tennessee anime convention running every year... so for those in that area this half of the feature is for you! When the con isnt doing charity events ( pictured below is cosplayers helping at a LocksforLove event) they are working to put together contests for cosplay & Ramen Eating Contests. The con features fashion forward programming like the Lolita Tea Party as well as a Japanese inspired fashion show. For the adult crowd they have things like the Rave, Bebop Bar Crawl and Risque Cosplay Contest( sounds like something the girls at My Geek Goddess could get behind! haha)

Our next backer is from Germany! O_O strange to see such international support! Mirko Hess shares this nerdy lil nook on the internet for everyone to enjoy " The Spoony Experiment". Lots of old video reviews for games, TV shows and movies. I saw these 2 and my insides were happy lol

Thanks to Alan Ralph, I had a video to post FOR my kickstarter! It was a real pain to figure out what to say in it so this guy cut out all my "derp" outtakes and spliced them all together to be ready for viewing! But normaly, he works on more complicated stuff than saving the world from my bloopers lol  Alan is a software developer based out of the UK who has since branched out to graphic design, printing and technical advisement.

Hello, Kitty!

So yeah, i recorded a review for this that was pretty cool. But then it got corrupted. And not in a sexy cackling villain way. Frustrated after almost 24 hours of being awake youll have to deal with this small clip of me wiggling my ass in it's stead. For now! Meh, and seeing this just reminds me i need a matching ivory lace bra panty set to put under this outfit for non tit friendly environments. I love the way see through latex looks with a bit of texture.

And as Always, Should you be inclined to please me, here is my wishlist: http://amzn.com/w/VN651OSN670R

Soft Kitty...Warm kitty....not so little ?

Hey everyone! I figure id give a casual update since im still estranged from my fb audience *grabby hands* T_T In 8 days ill be BACK! I want to turn to my boss and be like " i need the week off" "oh wow why?" "...I havent been on FB for an entire month*Stares blankly*" haha

Monday is going to be pretty long since we are hosting an open casting call to anyone wanting to model for us and walk in our charity fashion show. There are so many charities Id want to help with - like the In-Sync Exotics Wildlife rescue. But we went with the Scholarship America fund this time which helps kids pay for college. Which i wish i had help from when i went to school haha

The In-Sync Exotics rescue center is based in Texas and is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue of neglected, abused and unwanted exotic felines. As a fairly recently established organization (2000) they house and care for so many breath taking creatures. Reading some of the stories of how they were found made me want to throw up and punch humanity though T_T

"When the door opened we were hit with an unmistakable smell of rotten meat. On the left was a freezer of old rotten meat that had been covered in maggots then refroze. Just past the freezer was the first “stall” on the left. There were two cougars inside with piles of feces, old rotten food covered with bugs and maggots and absolutely no water. What we saw next was the most horrifying of all. Kane was laying in a corner weaving and shaking back and forth and was obviously very sick."

"His condition was so bad upon his arrival that we were not even 100% sure he was a lynx. He suffered severe ringworm, which left him almost entirely hairless. He was also anemic and significantly underweight at only 10.5 pounds."

But reading about how they have rejuvenated these poor guys is wonderful. Course, since it is a non profit organization and taking care of these endangered creatures costs tremendous amounts of money they are always looking for donations and volunteers.

There are many ways you can help, including, but not limited to:

  • Washing Bowls and Buckets
  • Cleaning enclosures
  • Preparing animal diets
  • Helping with special events
  • Fund raising
  • Building new enclosures

In addition to volunteers helping with the day-to-day chores, they also need skilled volunteers to help with special projects:

Skilled Volunteers:

  • Welders
  • Plumbers
  • Electricians
  • Landscapers
  • Carpenters

Marketing Support Volunteers:

  • Press Contacts
  • Finding contributions
  • Setting up corporate/business sponsors
  • Designing fundraising materials
  • Producing/printing fundraising materials
  • Obtaining donations for stocking gift shop

Kickstarter Backer Feature #1

So here i am, starting the new year off with the first volley of features of the many amazing and talented people who helped backing my first ever Kickstarter project, Manifest Fantasy! Today Im featuring 2 amazing photographers one I've known for a while and one im hoping to know better as the new year comes forward!

Photo Happy Troll Productions

Based out of Alexandria, VA he describes himself as "a Photo Happy Troll and his camera and Kilt running around taking photos.". Over the years hes been a momentous supporter of my work and a great friend so I am more than happy to show you guys some of his own work!

Recently he has taken on a project entitled the "Tronage Fairies",
a lil mixture of Ton, Bondage and the flirty fun of fairies.
Low light is probably the demon that haunts my nightmares but its the environmental his work takes him in most often. Using battery operated El-wires the bondage is woven about his models creating a mega cool club/ambient feel.

He frequents a lot of events from the fetish arena to anime conventions and renaissance fairs.
So between his main body of work you get a lot of variety. Anything from cute lolitas, sword fights to local parties. This Feb we may even be running into each other at the Wicked Fair, whos ready for some glowy latex?!

Next up is the fucking metal mind behind Kefkism Design! His work is that professionally polished quality you see the mainstream magazines applied to alt fashion and portrait work. In specific, he manages to wrangle large groups of people for these massively orchestrated images Id probably kill myself if i ever had to attempt lol Some of the images range from unique wedding group shots to editorial style work for clothing designers such as Alter-Eco Clothing & Dark Knits. He also shoots a lot of work for bands, from cover shots to event coverage.

Manifested.

So 2012 is waning away and with it's passing it is giving rise to new greater better more amazing things than I could have imagined. Im sure 2013 is going to have it's fill of hardship but as Im sitting here looking at my first ever completed kickstarter im just blown away.

I claim this moment as one to be a sentimental cancerian! I kind of started tearing up in the video I just made...my voice cracking like an insecure teenager lol But I sort of feel that way. That build of nervous energy swirling around in the pit of my stomach with a tight ball of excitement building up. On one hand I certainly am feeling the pressure of people's expectations. So many people have come out of the woodwork of the...the world i guess *blinks at some of the international backers* in supporting my work for this new year. I want to make sure its worth their interest & funding.

On the other hand? I feel a sort of relief in seeing so many people regard my work in a way that is worth notice. Sort of validated I guess? Thats not to say I dont fancy myself skilled at what I do. If i didnt feel at least that for my work I wouldnt push it like I have for so many years. But there is always a nagging doubt that my work is lacking something since it isnt you know.. knocking down the doors of Vogue as it were.

I took a lot of risks at the end of this year. I quit 2 large corrupt companies to join 2 smaller just budding businesses that have the risk of failing and leaving me high and dry. But I dont regret it. I love my change to Geek Goddess.

Ironically the first year I felt like Iv made a lot of changes and headway is this year and it was the first time at my 1 mandatory family function a yr that no one asked how I was doing LoL *facepalm*

All that aside, I just want to crank up my music as loud as the speakers go, sing along to what ever plays and work out all this energy iv got built up.

Or  Channel my inner Zangief  in bear hugging all of my friends I can reach.

On a lighter note, I got another garment in from Milanoo to review!
This time it wasnt a lolita garment but a sexy piece of rubber! Ill spare you the text.
Why read when you can watch a video review of the product?lol

Featured Team Mate - Shannon.

I am frequently known as Shannu to most of the group. Though I don't know where the nickname originated from! Behind the scenes I'm usually holding up reflectors that are ten times my size, or making sure lights don't come tumbling down on the models or photographer. I make sure to fix any piece of fabric and hair that is out of place. When I model I go as far as climbing into a fountain when it's fifty degrees outside, letting people put a dead crab on my head, and climbing trees. No matter what I'm wearing!! I'm all for doing crazy stuff for an awesome photo. It's rare that I take photos but when I do I make sure to catch some epic ones...

By nature I like to make things. If it's with a glue gun, polymer clay, or thread and needle!! I've been creating things since I was a daisy in girl scouts. I'm attempting to make things good enough that people would want to buy. PEPPERMINT BUTLERS FOR EVERYONE!! I get ideas from movies, books, and music. Crafting isn't my only source of creativity. I also write, though most people don't ever see my writing. It's as random as a fictional concert to the fourth level of hell.

Fav Hobbies: Crafting, Cosplay, reading, writing, photoshoots, going to concerts, playing DCU online which is my new addiction. I don't know how to stop!

Fav Movies/Tv: The Nightmare Before Christmas is my favorite movie ever and it has been since 1993!, Battle Royale, Dawn of the dead. As tv shows go: The Walking dead, Game of thrones, Archer.

Fav Books: Night by Elie Wiesel, The Harry Potter series (don't judge me!!), The Hobbit, Lost Souls by Poppy z. Brite.

Fav Bands: My favorite bands rotate a lot but I tend to enjoy these ones a lot: Metallica, Slayer, Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold, Within Temptation, Linkin Park, Eisley, Nox Arcana, Three Days Grace.

Random uncommonly known fact: I really like insane asylums. I don't know why. They just seem to be so fascinating to me. I'll read any book about them and watch any movie, even if it's lame. XD I like making towers of iced-tea bottles

Featured Team Mate - Patrick.

Hey there folks, The names Patrick Purcell and I tend to be a jack of all trades round here.
I do some of the photography, some of the set design, some of the set construction, some concept work, a lot of the grip work, and pretty much all the driving. In my personal creative endeavors I’m more of a writer than a photographer. Lately I’ve been writing in a mixture of Modern Anachronism (Steampunk is the overused term), Horror, Mystery, and Drama. The current piece started as a short story concept and has been slowly growing to encompass a whole world building process to the final result of completing at least one full novel. Just need more people interested I guess.

Fav Hobbies: Gaming in many different facets from Console to PC and Table top to LARP (I try to be the more improvisational actor kind than the throwing wadded up tissue paper kind). Although recently, I have rediscovered my video game roots in fighting games. And of course Warhammer will always be the world that Warcraft stole. Never Forgive, Never Forget (Shake fist at the sky)

Fav Movies/Tv: Waaaay too many to count but a quick top 3 would be Ghostbusters, Yojimbo, and Avengers.

Fav Books: Anything written by Brom, Gaiman, or Butcher

Fav Bands: Another near impossible task. But Top 3 at the moment would have to be Dream Theater, Opeth, and Mastodon

1 random uncommonly known fact: I am haunted by Hitler and Nazi references.
 It’s a near daily occurrence...I can’t escape them. I am truly cursed.
